Artist Callout - Town of Vincent Festival 2011
The Town of Vincent will be hosting a community celebration festival in William Street on Sunday 20th March 2011 between 10am and 4pm. We are looking for performance, and visual artists to participate in the festival.
There is an Aboriginal and Asian theme as well an underlying artistic element. We need fresh, creative ideas.
If you have a project, performance or idea that would suit a festival environment then we want to hear from you.

Workshops @ Town Of Vincent = Creative Conversations
Creative Conversations
A series of talks and workshops celebrating the arts in the Town of Vincent
Vincent is noted for the number of creative individuals living and working within its boundaries. Creative Conversations aims to highlight some of these individuals and share their skills, creativity, knowledge and enthusiasm with the broader community.
The talks will be held at the Library & Local History Centre and feature prominent artists across many fields – Kevin Robertson (figurative painter), Barry Strickland (writer/documentary maker), Tony Nathan (photographer), Chrissie Parrott and Jonathan Mustard (dance and multi-media artists), Judith Forrest (visual artist) and Adrian Iredale (architect).The workshops will be held in various locations around the Town and include topics such as painting, documenting artwork, film-making, T-shirt design (youth workshop) and drawing.
A Celebration of Writing will also be held at The Bodhi Tree from 24 July-1 August 2010.
Beginning in June, the programme will run for approximately six weeks.

The word on the street
The word on the street is a new community street festival with a craft market is planned later this year, courtesy of the good folk in the events department at the Town of Vincent. The event formerly known as the Leederville street festival has moved slightly up and to the right, and this year on November 30 will be appearing in hipster North Perth location Angove Street, home of fab cafe Milkd and other funky shops.If you would like to be considered for a stall or need more information then please contact Jill at the Town of Vincent on 9252 1323 jill.symons@vincent.wa.gov.au or Tracee Blythe on 9273 6030 tracee.blythe@vincent.wa.gov.au - you may want to hurry as they are offering FREE stalls to successful applicants!
