OUR mission statement

MADE ON THE LEFT was founded in 2008 by independent designers to support Western Australian creative talent. We hold bi-annual handmade craft markets to showcase local designers.

Being on the left hand side of Australia no longer

means you'll be at a disadvantage.

Our aim is to support all creative designers and events showcasing independent labels. MOTL is a not-for-profit, non-partisan organisation. You may wonder why we promote other markets besides MOTL; it’s because it’s not about us, its about you; the buyers and sellers of indie wares. Here at the blog, you’ll discover up to date information about our latest market, the low-down on some of Perth’s emerging talents, other opportunities for artists and designers and a little bit of fun stuff too. Summer Night Markets applications open

Applications are now open for OnWilliam's annual Summer Night Markets in the Perth Cultural Centre!

This open air night market will be held on Friday 11th of December from 4 to 10pm. These pre-Christmas markets have become a must in the calendars of both local designers and city shoppers.

The Cultural Centre will be jam packed with 60+ stall holders, live music on the Wetland stage, fun activities, delicious food at 'Truck Stop', and outdoor bars at PICA and Bar Pop in the Urban Orchard.

Stall prices range from $150 - $300. Applications are due Sunday 1st November. Apply via the application form.

Stallholders wanted for OnWilliam markets

OnWilliam have a few events coming up and applications for stallholders are open now!

The Retro Rumble Markets
When: 11am - 5pm, Sunday 24th November 2013
Where: Russell Square, Northbridge.

The inaugural Retro Rumble Free Festival is a diverse retro music and arts festival brought to us by HMS PopUp Productions which will bring Northbridge alive with the sounds of forgotten eras, in some of Northbridge’s less frequented spaces. Live music and a classic car show will compliment the massive retro ‘custom culture’ markets in Russell Square.

Illuminites
When: 5pm - 10pm, Friday 13th December 2013
Where: Perth Cultural Centre

OnWilliam in conjunction with MRA will again host Illuminites for the third year running. This has gained a reputation as a must visit pre Christmas market.

	NORTHBRIDGE O-DAY - THIS SUNDAY! Northbridge is OPEN this Sunday for O-Day with over 100 things to do, see and collect around the 'hood. From backstage tours to treasure hunts, to workshops and performances, O-Day lifts the lid on all things Northbridge. Get adventurous, get creative and get very busy - how much of the O-Day program can you complete? Explore the massive FREE program at the Perth Cultural Centre, Northbridge Piazza and everywhere in-between. Stumble upon curious delights as you browse designer markets, grab a tasty treat from one of the delicious food stalls, hunt down your free magnet set and pick up some new tips and tricks from one of the many workshops. Dance in the dark, learn some circus secrets, yarn bomb a Vespa scooter at the Montage Pop-up shop or beam yourself into a movie on the big screen... who knows where you will find yourself. Fill in your O-Day guide throughout your adventure, collect stamps as you complete activities and once you have enough points visit the info booth to get your free souvenir book bag.
