OUR mission statement

MADE ON THE LEFT was founded in 2008 by independent designers to support Western Australian creative talent. We hold bi-annual handmade craft markets to showcase local designers.

Being on the left hand side of Australia no longer

means you'll be at a disadvantage.

Our aim is to support all creative designers and events showcasing independent labels. MOTL is a not-for-profit, non-partisan organisation. You may wonder why we promote other markets besides MOTL; it’s because it’s not about us, its about you; the buyers and sellers of indie wares. Here at the blog, you’ll discover up to date information about our latest market, the low-down on some of Perth’s emerging talents, other opportunities for artists and designers and a little bit of fun stuff too. It’s all right here… welcome!

Ethikl Marketplace said...

I am the Founder of ethikl the new online marketplace and would like to thank you for your blog and invite more artisan producers from around Australia to be involved and sell their handmade, natural and organic products.

In the tradition of a local farmers’ market, Ethikl caters to small artisan producers who use organic, natural, or recycled ingredients or make their products by hand and have limited exposure. Sellers have the opportunity to set up virtual storefronts to post their wares and share information.

At Ethikl, shoppers have a similar experience to visiting a farmers’ market where there is the opportunity to discover amazing local goods from passionate producers. What’s more, there’s no limit to what can be available. From private farms to home kitchens, all the products for sale on Ethikl are high-quality and free from artificial ingredients. Most people simply don’t have access to these kinds of handmade products and artisan food makers.

One of the main aims of Ethikl is promote and support the ethical consumer movement and encourage shoppers to make positive buying decisions, such as favoring ethical products, be they fair trade, cruelty free, organic, recycled, re-used, or produced locally.

We would love to see heaps of designers from WA on the site.I am inviting new sellers to sign up for free. It costs nothing to list an item and when your item sells you’ll only pay a 5% transaction fee. That’s it! You get your own easy to use online shop and individual store name and URL, set your shop policies & control your own shipping and pricing.

We are currently offering free placement in the Featured Products section on the home page for the first sellers to sign up with us and list their products. There are only 12 places available so they will fill up fast, so sign up now!
