OUR mission statement

MADE ON THE LEFT was founded in 2008 by independent designers to support Western Australian creative talent. We hold bi-annual handmade craft markets to showcase local designers.

Being on the left hand side of Australia no longer

means you'll be at a disadvantage.

Our aim is to support all creative designers and events showcasing independent labels. MOTL is a not-for-profit, non-partisan organisation. You may wonder why we promote other markets besides MOTL; it’s because it’s not about us, its about you; the buyers and sellers of indie wares. Here at the blog, you’ll discover up to date information about our latest market, the low-down on some of Perth’s emerging talents, other opportunities for artists and designers and a little bit of fun stuff too. It’s all right here… welcome!

Just for Fun : Supporting local WA film-makers

Hello Lovelies!!!

The talented Perth film maker, Ella Wright, is in pre-production on her latest project, a short film called George Jones and the Giant Squid.
The Writers and Directors are the guys that brought us "This is Perth" which they made in their spare time, now its time to bring their satire to the big screen!

It's not long until filming is underway. You are invited to be part of the action!!! 100 extras are sorely needed to acheive an important scene in the film to be shot in our beloved Fremantle.

The main thing is to find out who of you/friends/family can make it. Can you??? If you can please email Ella (ella_wright@hotmail.com)for deets.

Your appearance will be kindly rewarded with beer and sausages, and the wam fuzzy feeling of knowing you chipped in.

See you there!

Market Opportunity + More

What's YOUR story?
The Town of Vincent is hosting a community celebration for the William Street area on Sunday 20 March 2011 between 10am and 4pm and is seeking story tellers and artists to be involved...

This area is rich in culture, history and art, there are so many interesting stories about the
people, the places, past and present that need to be told. Included in the program of the festival will be an oral history element where members of each cultural community as well as those with a personal history of this area, young and not so young get to tell their story.

Stories can be orally delivered or through pictures,
vision, art, dance and performance. Are you a part of William Street or do you know someone is or was?? The Town is also seeking local artists to sell their work at the art car park market on the day or produce work as part of the festival.

If you have work to sell or an idea of how
you can be involved in the festival then please contact Jill Symons on9273 6557 or email jill.symons@vincent.wa. gov.au
