OUR mission statement
MADE ON THE LEFT was founded in 2008 by independent designers to support Western Australian creative talent. We hold bi-annual handmade craft markets to showcase local designers.

Our aim is to support all creative designers and events showcasing independent labels. MOTL is a not-for-profit, non-partisan organisation. You may wonder why we promote other markets besides MOTL; it’s because it’s not about us, its about you; the buyers and sellers of indie wares. The Dollar Shop – call for submissions
The Dollar Shop is a unique retail experience selling great design at affordable prices. Unfortunately it's in Sydney, not Perth but you can still submit products!
It is a collaboration between graphic designers Louise Helliwell and Alex De Bonis and supported by City of Sydney. All products in-store will be created by local artists, designers and creative types with the brief that nothing can be sold for over $20.
They are looking for a wide range of amazing products, for example: clothing, jewellery, bags, stationery, self-publishing, photography, posters, weird machines, instruments, kitchenware, illustration, music, craft, prints, things from far off lands etc. The product has to be designed/made/altered by you. It is a statement about making affordable design without selling yourself cheap.
