OUR mission statement

MADE ON THE LEFT was founded in 2008 by independent designers to support Western Australian creative talent. We hold bi-annual handmade craft markets to showcase local designers.

Being on the left hand side of Australia no longer

means you'll be at a disadvantage.

Our aim is to support all creative designers and events showcasing independent labels. MOTL is a not-for-profit, non-partisan organisation. You may wonder why we promote other markets besides MOTL; it’s because it’s not about us, its about you; the buyers and sellers of indie wares. Here at the blog, you’ll discover up to date information about our latest market, the low-down on some of Perth’s emerging talents, other opportunities for artists and designers and a little bit of fun stuff too. It’s all right here… welcome!

Workshops @ Town Of Vincent = Creative Conversations

Creative Conversations

Creative Conversations

A series of talks and workshops celebrating the arts in the Town of Vincent

Vincent is noted for the number of creative individuals living and working within its boundaries. Creative Conversations aims to highlight some of these individuals and share their skills, creativity, knowledge and enthusiasm with the broader community.

The talks will be held at the Library & Local History Centre and feature prominent artists across many fields – Kevin Robertson (figurative painter), Barry Strickland (writer/documentary maker), Tony Nathan (photographer), Chrissie Parrott and Jonathan Mustard (dance and multi-media artists), Judith Forrest (visual artist) and Adrian Iredale (architect).

The workshops will be held in various locations around the Town and include topics such as painting, documenting artwork, film-making, T-shirt design (youth workshop) and drawing.

A Celebration of Writing will also be held at The Bodhi Tree from 24 July-1 August 2010.

Beginning in June, the programme will run for approximately six weeks.

See the program for details.
