OUR mission statement

MADE ON THE LEFT was founded in 2008 by independent designers to support Western Australian creative talent. We hold bi-annual handmade craft markets to showcase local designers.

Being on the left hand side of Australia no longer

means you'll be at a disadvantage.

Our aim is to support all creative designers and events showcasing independent labels. MOTL is a not-for-profit, non-partisan organisation. You may wonder why we promote other markets besides MOTL; it’s because it’s not about us, its about you; the buyers and sellers of indie wares. Here at the blog, you’ll discover up to date information about our latest market, the low-down on some of Perth’s emerging talents, other opportunities for artists and designers and a little bit of fun stuff too. It’s all right here… welcome!

Made on the Left DESTASH YOUR SUPPLIES MARKET

We at Made on the Left feel that 2011 is going to be an awesome year full of new possibilities and crafting adventures. So we thought we’d launch the new year with a market dedicated to clearing out your craft room (art studio, lounge room or exploding spare room) of all those supplies you have bought over the years and never quite used. It’s also dedicated to all those people who have found their passion (or still searching) and need the equipment and supplies to continue their awesome work.

So come along and add to your passion, trade your equipment or sell off all those no longer needed supplies gathering dust. Wool, cotton, material, easels, brushes, glass, beads, canvases, wood, clay, polymers, pens, paper...the list goes on.
9.30am - 2pm
Upstairs at The Saint, Innaloo

Hi, Leave a message indicating what you might bring, sell and trade to the market. Please this is not a forum to sell through - wait for the market for commercial transactions :)

I have a about 10-15 pairs of jeans - so loads of preloved denim. I'd trade for watercolour paints.

To all those fabric hoarders you need to come and see my fabric stash, I'm going overseas so I have boxes and boxes of fabric including some beautiful vintage pieces. Also lots of books, magazines, craft supplies and jewellery findings.

Like Lara I'm also moving overseas so I'm getting rid of some very nice stuff that (trust me) I would keep if I were staying in Perth. Materials with cute patterns, lots of blank canvases, buttons, beads, metal trinkets, a screen printing kit, wooden items, paper packs and more =)

Well I am doing a general clean out so will have a lot of random things... fabric, haberdashery, mohair yarn, leather scraps, anything else I can find...

I can bring mainly dress-making fabrics, a few are on the roll but probably a few other sewing supplies too. Much of it I inherited from a friend who made ballet costumes and moved overseas, I have never used because I use mostly natural fibres and there is a lot of lycra/stretch stuff. Would swap for cottons, or sell pretty cheaply to someone who will use them...

I have been inspired by watching Clean House and I am being
ruthless on myself!
I still have a LOT of sorting to do before the day, so this is just a likely indication only:
Bolts of fabric, Beads and Findings, Baskets, Wool, Feathers,
Colorcutter Pens, Xyron refills, Scrapbooking papers, possibly some art supplies?,
I also have a large roll of medium thickness copper shim (about 60cm width, over
15kg)
and a smaller roll of thinner bronze shim (about 15cm width)
I also have 2 work benches on castors for sale - cant bring on the day of course
I am mainly looking to sell but if anyone has ceramics supplies especially the following:
Sealed bags of Southern Ice Clay, Paper Clay Stonewear only, cobalt carb or oxide
